Avoncroft Museum of Buildings |

| We visited this museum late summer 2004. I
can't remember how much we paid to get in but it was a fair entrance
fee.
One of the first exhibits was the telephone box area. Absolutely fantastic! The guide in there was a most interesting man, ex BT,retired but still wanted to work and was happy to pass on his vast knowledge to visitors. Every type of phone box was there, including police, AA, Mercury, mobile and fixed exchanges with different generations of technology.
http://www.connected-earth.com/index.htm The rest of the site was of mixed quality. A lot of the buildings were run down and the gardens and landscaping were awful.

The windmill was exceptionally good though again with an interesting
guide.
The miniature railway was good, nicely kept, run by enthusiasts, as was the church. Some interesting buildings, worth a visit? Yes, if only for the telephone box display.
