San Francisco. Wow. This place is awesome. I had 2 weeks here in 1998 then a much longer stint in 1999, 6 weeks of glorious October/November weather, blue sky all the time, temperatures around 30 - 35°. I visited as many places as possible during the weekends, because in the week I was working, shame.
This is 1998, my first drive over Bay Bridge. Then Golden Gate Bridge.
There is a story behind this car, it was all the car rental place had! These 2 shots of Lombard Street.
Reminder of the Keystone Kops. Of course, everybody has to visit Alcatraz.
The following photographs are from 1998...
GG Bridge, the centre picture is on mount Diablo with my rental car. Scorched grass, the mountain was deathly quiet, a most pleasant day out.
My youngest daughter who was 6 at the time said "they have MacDonalds in America too?" The other 2 pictures are from the hydrofoil which is an excellent way to get downtown and avoid the traffic.
Lake Tahoe, and the shot on the right, one of the best places I visited, USS Hornet, in Oakland. Is now preserved and is well worth a visit. www.uss-hornet.org
