Home Family Schooldays Cycling Places Visited Running Young Roger Walks
Our visit took place on 1st June 2005. The weather was wet,  windy and cold.

Entrance fee was £29 for a family of 2 adults, 2 children. At first I thought it was poor value for money but it actually wasn't bad at all.

This is a glorified zoo, with fewer animals but more land in which they live. Generally the animals looked well cared for (I'm no expert but they looked good and moved about ok).

Pets corner

The walled garden was excellent , with smaller animals exhibited such as penguins, falcons, small monkeys and otters.

Other interesting parts of this establishment are the ants, absolutely fascinating, and the bats.

The owners of course, have to screw as much money out of their visitors as they can and these owners do it quite well. Who can blame them, they only get chance for one stab at it.

However, this place is no worse than others, and I would say somewhat better, the food in the restaurant isn't bad, the usual rubbish sold in the shop is quite good quality, nonetheless mainly useless trinkets, the sort tourists will buy then on arriving home wonder why they ever bought it!

I'm not particularly a supporter of zoo's as I have feelings for the inmates but I do believe they can be of use as an educational tool to help in the survival of dwindling species.

Penguins

I would say that this is one of the better places of animal imprisonment and would recommend it as a day out.
